Background
With over a decade of professional experience, my work with animals has included training, enrichment, behavior support, and hands-on care across a wide range of settings. Early on, working closely with dogs helped me realize that my true passion was understanding why dogs do what they do. I became fascinated by how dogs think and learn, and training quickly became my favorite way to connect with them and help them grow. Over the years, I have gained invaluable experience working with puppies through complex behavior cases, supporting both family pets and working dogs alike.
My background includes training and competing in Flyball, Agility, Barn Hunt, Fast CAT, and Rally, experiences that strengthened my understanding of communication, trust, and teamwork. I studied Animal Sciences with a concentration in Animal Behavior at Purdue University and later earned my MBA from Nova Southeastern University, allowing me to combine practical expertise with a thoughtful, professional approach.
I have worked as an enrichment specialist in a shelter setting, supporting playgroups, mental stimulation, and dogs navigating behavioral challenges. In addition to Tu Perfect Companion, I support as an animal handler at Chewy, ensuring pets feel comfortable, confident, and supported in a studio environment. This role has strengthened my ability to manage animals in busy, unfamiliar, and high-energy settings with calm, intentional care.
